It’s back to school time so this post is fitting! I always encourage couples to choose a place for their engagement pictures that reflects them or just something different. And Laura + DeeJay came up with the middle school where they met about 10 years ago. She liked him in one of her classes and didn’t like him in another until she realized it was the same person! So funny.
Really excited for their carnival-ish themed Labor Day wedding!
Thought this mural was the perfect backdrop for a Polaroid.

She liked him in gym; didn’t like him in Math. She didn’t recognize him when he had his glasses on!

Lunch line and one of their actual teachers. He was so nice to let us use his room.

Dogs!

This was one of my favorite weddings ever, shot at Ponte Winery. It was a super easy relaxed day with just the right amount of time for pictures, everyone was easy going, gorgeous and happy! It was very sweet and emotional. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed or cried as much as I did at this wedding. It was extremely hard to choose pictures for the blog; I hope I did it justice!
Lindsey and Patrick are beautiful on the outside and inside.

Hello blue eyes!

Good looking wedding party.

Reception details.

First dance.

I just love this of Lindsey and her dad.

Lindsey’s grandma and grandpa.

The groom is a twin so there were 3 sets of twins at this wedding, so of course there needed to be a dance off! I’m obsessed with twins and dancing so when the two combine- I’m ecstatic!! I love how all the twins are in similar positions to each other. The girls won by a landslide!

One of the twins before the dance off.

Lindsey’s mom surprised them with an old car.

I had the pleasure of shooting this cute family. The light was delicious perfection and they were so beautiful. It’s great to shoot families who are relaxed and just let the moments happen. That’s when the pictures come out the best.

I adore this. It reminds me of one of my fave pics when I was this age of me and my dad.

A few details from Lindsey + Patrick’s wedding at Ponte Winery in Temecula. Flowers by Leigh Johnson at Posies Flowers.
Patrick surprised Lindsey with a sweet note attached to her bouquet. Lindsey added some details to her two sister’s bouquets.

Their reception details were so fun. Lots of candy, cookies from a bakery in San Francisco, paper lanterns, pink and black. I loved that they made a recipe book with their engagement pictures! They also displayed a few other engagement pictures in vintage frames hung from a vintage room separator.

Guess it’s film week on the blog! Finally got the 35mm developed from New York. I had them cross-processed and I’m in love with how they turned out. Come back for more 120 film from the Holga soon.

If I could put how I feel about Lindsey + Patrick’s wedding into one dance move, this would be it.
I have to admit this was a total accident but I take credit for it nonetheless!!

Of course more of this amazing wedding to come!

This was one of my most favoritest (I know that’s not a word) things that’s ever happened at a wedding.
As soon as we walked into the space where the crowd was, they went wild. Everyone was cheering. Hundreds, if not thousands of people were cheering for Paris and David! The energy was amazing and not like anything I’ve ever experienced. People were yelling, “Congratuations!!”, clapping and stopping to take pictures. One girl even asked if she could be in a picture with them. Who says New Yorkers are rude?! They are some of the best people ever.
It was epic.

All the people on the red stairs stood up, cheered, yelled and took pictures.

As we were crossing the street, this highly intoxicated couple kept saying to each other, “we should get married! Would you shoot our wedding?!” They followed us and tried to steal Paris + David’s thunder!

I’m in love with blurry pictures because they “feel” more like what was happening.

The low key ceremony of Paris + David took place in Central Park. Only five guests! We made it through the ceremony and for a few minutes of pictures after. Then it really started raining!
Up next is Times Square. So much fun.
Ceremony: Central Park
Reception: Michael Jordan’s The Steakhouse in Grand Central Station

How cute is Grandma?! She sat by me at dinner and gave me some great tips on making flan.

Paris’ dad officiated the ceremony.

I love the city and the crazy storm clouds in this!

Starting to rain:

Dinner at Michael Jordan’s. The wrapper on the chocolate said, “I am my beloved’s and my chocolate is mine.” Love it!

A few pics in the Grand Central Station.

After we shot them getting ready, we headed to thee Brooklyn Bridge. It’s hard to believe a couple hours later after this, there was a torrential downpour!
Up next is the ceremony in Central Park! Then epic times in Time’s Square!

This picture sums up why I love NY!

One of my absolute faves.
