Alexandria + Spencer are the amazing gorgeous and wonderful couple I did a vintage inspired engagement session in Newport Beach with last year. And now we have their 1920s/1930s inspired wedding at the very fitting Art Deco The Cicada Restaurant.. So many great, loving people and beautiful details.

Last weekend Dana Grant Photography was one of the vendors at the Vintage Glam Bridal Show. It was super last minute when I heard about it. I never know to expect with Bridal Shows. I did one once and brides were backing away from my table like my images scared them! That was five years ago when my style was not popular. So it’s always interesting to see how it turns out. In this case, we received a ton of positive feedback about our booth, which my partner in crime helped me set up. I could not have done it with out his help! I paid him in snuggles.

We met some amazing brides, couples and vendors! Everyone loved our booth and my style. They kept asking if we brought all of my vintage items to the wedding! Funny. I guess we can!

I just loved this setup by Kismet Event Planning and Design and the model is wearing Dolly Couture, which are super fun vintage inspired dresses! We ended up doing a mini shoot. Makeup was done by BeYOUty by Jhoselyn.

Happy Valentine’s Day Lovers! A few weeks ago we did a B Sexy Session Marathon for Valentine’s Day. They all did this for their husbands, which I think is so cute! And the best gift.

The first part of my light, contrast and beauty project. I was a little intimidated to shoot Maile because she has so many amazing pictures of herself and I also find her photography moving. She takes incredible, intriguing self portraits and other photographers have shot amazing pictures of her… But that’s the thing I’ve realized is number one creativity killer; fear! Forcing myself to shoot even if everything isn’t “perfect” can only help me grow as an artist. So I was so excited with how these turned out. She loved them and will let me shoot her whenever I want, which means you’ll be seeing more of her gorgeousness soon.

Every Friday, I’ve decided to work on some projects just for me. I started last Friday with my beautiful friend Maile. This is about light and contrasts. The next part of this series will be at night.

Helena + Mina are so unbelieviely precious. Some of the nicest and most fun people I’ve had the honor of working with. All my client-friends are amazing I tell you! I dare you to find a photo of them not being happy and wonderful.

I was very excited to shoot this beautiful Egyptian Coptic Wedding at one of the most gorgeous churches I’ve ever been in. You can thank them for converting me into a fan.

Leslie was in her sister Lindsay’s wedding that I shot way back and so I was excited when she contacted me for her own wedding. It’s so fun to get to be around amazing people again! Tyler proposed to Leslie in Julian, so we decided to shoot there. So I made a day of it, forced my boyfriend to come with (and by forced I mean I asked nicely and he said it would be fun) and we got some Juli-riffic pictures of this nice couple. Of course we ended the shoot with apple pie because that’s a rule. (Leslie + Tyler insisted on treating us!) And then we bought more apple pie and apple cider (hot and cold) because that is also a rule.

That apple thing from Mom’s Pies was delightful!

Things you don’t see everyday: Payphones and mini-horses. Not pictured; a llama.
