Not only did I get to shoot Paris + David’s engagement session in Hollywood and destination wedding in New York, I got the pleasure of shooting at yet another fun destination. This time for their little one’s first birthday in Hawaii Kai (on Oahu). Paris designed and made everything. She’s crazy talented and also a photographer. She’s always been so positive throughout the years, I’m blessed to know her and David too!
Thank you both so much for having me!
I adore this polaroid heart. I’ve been collecting some old Polaroids to do this with for years!
There’s a Chinese tradition to have the 1 year old pick from all these items and whichever one he chooses will be his career. When everyone got excited and made a lot of noise when he went to pick, it scared him! He also didn’t like the feeling of frosting on his fingers. So funny!
I love a good mushtashe.
Levi is Owen’s younger brother and it was his very first birthday. And Dana Grant Photography was there to document yet another historic event in the life of The Rachunok Family!
This party was a pirate theme and it was lots of fun!
The Birthday Boy!
Aunt Amy and Pirate Owen.
Owen enjoys a snow cone.
Levi did NOT enjoy his cake!
But he did enjoy this niefty piece of cardboard…..
….and this snow cone…..
….and being tossed in the air!
I love shooting kids eating. And they kept yelling, “El Pollo Loco!”
Aren’t we cute?! Melody, Levi and Dana. (Thanks Amy!)
A couple of weeks ago we did a blog about this Launch Party we went to that was being filmed for Lifetime’s Top This Party. Well, it airs tonight at 10pm. I can’t wait to see our friend Lauren of Prince Events on this show. And it’s fun to see if we show up somewhere in the background since we were there while they filmed the party. See if you can spot us!
Saturday evening we were invited to a fabulous Launch Party at the Long Beach Airplane Hanger hosted by our fabulous friend, Lauren Reeves of Prince Events. This was no small shindig! Besides having amazing details and decor (worth over $120,000!) the party was filmed for Lifetime Network’s Top This Party which will be airing Feb 8th at 10pm.
"Dana Grant Photography is just AMAZING. Her work is unparalleled and pure genius. If you are looking for a photographer that can capture a moment and not just a pose, this is the photography studio you are looking for. The style is very "Vogue" quality and photojournalistic. She is magic behind the camera and a delight to work with as a person. You will just immediately fall in love. Dana Grant Photography is the WHOLE package and so much more. I highly recommend her for ALL of your photo needs."

"Ummmm...I freaking love you. No really...like, can you move in and just make us look that adorable all the time? Dana!!! You are SOOOOOO crazy talented...it hurts my brain. This has made me feel like I am REALLY good at choosing stuff for my wedding."
Jaymi and Andy, December 2010
"I spent the most money on the thing that was very most important to me which was photography. That was more than half my budget. The rest was all my friends and family. (You can get anyone but I wanted the best.)"
Catie and Ben, March 2010
"Dana is not only an amazing photographer, she's also a phenomenal person. And we really did feel like we got a friend as part of the package. She truly is a beautiful person who happens to take equally beautiful pictures!"
Kristen and Chris, October 2009
"Dana is amazing! I wouldn't have wanted anyone else! I am so happy with how everything turned out! We've had the pleasure of being shot by her and being friends with her as well! She handles everything professionally but still manages to be fun. Anyone who hired her would be lucky to have her shooting their wedding!"
Heather and Grayson, April 2009
"Oh my word... we are in love with them! We were scrolling down the page and giggling with delight all the while. Steven just kept saying 'she NAILED it!' hahah. Seriously.. they are perfect... we love them... and we love you too! Thank you sooo much for capturing our day. It went by so fast for us... like a blur... and it's so nice to have amazing pictures that show us everything!"
