Yay Jackie and Joe and Yay San Francisco!! This was our first time meeting this super cute couple and they are soooo awesome. We especially wanted to shoot this in San Francisco because 1. It really reflects them since they used to live there 2. They were in from New York and 3. It’s a good excuse to celebrate our six year anniversary early! We had a blast walking around while they showed us all the places they are so familiar with.

We started out in our hotel for an idea that Jeremy had.

Then we walked through this cool place:

Next, they took us to the roof of the place they used to live!

We ended our session on the street!

For just a few minutes of this fam shoot, we stole each couple away from their kiddys for some fun portraits. We always enjoy seeing the reaction (when it comes time for pictures) of a couple who has been married a few years. When you’re married a long time, you’re not used to this!

Friday we shot The van Zoest Family. Our friends Rik and Jhentry worked with us when lived in San Diego. Now they live in Georgia so we haven’t seen them since we quit our jobs (to pursue our photography dream!) several years ago. It’s really funny that the whole thing came full circle! It was really great to see them again. And they brought Rik’s family too. So we had three different fams to shoot. It was such a blast!

I had to split these up into two blogs so here’s the family portion:

Our car got broken into (probably by a homeless person since we were parked right by the trash and we’ve seen them going through it) and they stole our GPS system out of the glove compartment. And just for fun, our insurance doesn’t cover it!

In order to cope with these HUGE (I’m very dramatic at the moment! Ha!) loss in my life, I’m writing a letter to the good ole GPS:

Dear GPS,

I’ll miss the way you used to get us to places earlier than expected. You were so smart and always knew the best and fastest way to get there.

I’ll miss how we didn’t have to think about which way we were going. Sometimes, you’d even talk to us. But if we ever got sick of hearing your voice, you’d be quiet too.

We’ll miss how we NEVER got lost. This is very important as I’m super creative at finding new ways to get myself all turned around.

I’ll miss all the fun adventures we use to have just driving around with the security of knowing we could always find our way back home.

But most of all, I’ll miss how we could find any food or any store our little hearts desired. You always knew exactly what was closest and easiest to get to.

It was like you could read our minds.

Farewell Friend. There will be an empty place in my heart until we meet again!
